Wii U users waiting to hear about Nintendo's upcoming The Legend of Zelda Wii U have been promised by Nintendo that the game will be releasing in 2016.
While the recent Nintendo Direct did not have anything on The Legend of Zelda Wii U, fans were assured that the game was in fact coming in 2016 and there is a small footage regarding the same.
There were rumours that the delay in the release of The Legend of Zelda Wii U could be due to the possibility of releasing the game for Nintendo's new console, Nintendo NX, which is reportedly still in development. Originally, The Legend of Zelda Wii U was expected to roll out in 2015 but was delayed.
Eurogamer noted that Nintendo Direct was "heavy" on Zelda, after Nintendo announced Twilight Princess HD, Linkle (female Link) coming to Hyrule Warriors Legends and about Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass releasing on Wii U eShop.
The footage that was released in the event was for too short a duration to do any analysis or speculation. What we can gather from it is the fact that the game has striking landscape.
The Legend of Zelda Wii U footage (below) starts from 3.17 minutes. It is a 13 seconds video that shows Link riding her horse, Epona through a mountain field.
