Lee Min Ho fans across the globe have got their first glimpse at his younger version in the upcoming SBS period drama, The Legend Of The Blue Sea, through an Instagram image. The character is being played by GOT7 member Park Jin-young and a still of him has been uploaded by his admirer on the photo-sharing platform recently.
In the image, the 22-year-old singer is seen standing on the seashore wearing a white-coloured shirt and a grey trouser. Since he is seen wrapped in a multi-coloured blanket, it is assumed that the photo was taken while filming of a sea-side scene.
Although the Dream High 2 actor and his agency JYP Entertainment are yet to release an official statement regarding his casting, the Instagram picture confirms the news.
A representative of the Korean entertainer had released a statement earlier this month stating that the agency is in talks with the production company, Culture Depot. According to the statement, the agency was working on the schedules and negotiating with the actor.
In The Legend Of The Blue Sea, Jin-young will be portraying the teenage version of Lee Min Ho's character named Heo Joon-jae a.k.a Kim Dam-lim. The character is described as the son of a magistrate in Joseon era, who gradually transforms into a cold-blooded con-man.
Other lead cast members in the mini-series include Jun Ji-hyun as a mermaid named Shim Chung, Lee Hee-joon as a skilled con-man called Jo Nam-doo and Shin Hye-sun as a university researcher named Cha Si-a.
The SBS drama is roughly based on a Korean legend that revolves around the lives of a fisherman and a mermaid. But major part of the storyline will focus on the modern day, wherein the mermaid decides to live in Seoul as a human and ends up meeting a professional scammer.
The Legend Of The Blue Sea is scheduled to premiere on SBS by November 16 and take over the time slot of currently running Gong Hyo-jin and Jo Jung-suk starrer Jealousy Incarnate.
