In the latest episode of HBO's "The Leftovers" titled "A Most Powerful Adversary," it seems that current circumstances compelled Laurie to take a decision that will shock Kevin, Tommy and Jill.

According to the synopsis of the episode, Nora delivers shocking news to Jill and Kevin, who worry about how to solve his Patti problem. Meanwhile, Laurie makes a startling decision that affects her whole family.

In the promo of the episode, Kevin is seen to be handcuffed, with Patti sitting across him. As he wakes up, Patti says, "She's gone. It's going to be a hard day, buddy."

Nora is still troubled from the events of the previous episode and says that she will leave Miracle soon and abandon Kevin and Jill.

Kevin has been going through a gradual breakdown in the entire season as no matter how hard he tries, the visions of Patti don't stop haunting him.

The visions are giving him a terrible headache and he has been unable to sleep properly for a long time. However, he hasn't confided about it to anyone because he is scared that if he does that, the nightmares will turn true.

However, unable to bear the pain anymore, Kevin confides his problems to Nora who advises him to confront Patti and put an end to it forever.

In the previous episode titled "Lens," Kevin, after attempting a failed suicide, decided to tell Nora about his visions of Patti and how it has been haunting him for nights.

It was also revealed in the episode that Erika was disturbed because her loved ones were losing their minds since Evie's disappearance.

Whether Kevin will be able to overcome his fear of Patti and will finally confront her or not, will be seen only in the upcoming episode.
