LeEco is hosting a special one-day sale on Flipkart on Feb. 25, where it will be offering Rs eight crore worth of prizes as a token of gratitude towards its customers in India. The Chinese electronics manufacturer will also offer its affordable Le 1s in an open sale for the first time, after three successful flash sales in the country on the same day.
LeEco Day, as it is being called, is touted as one of the largest shopping carnivals organised by a smartphone brand in collaboration with Flipkart. It also replicates the company's globally recognised "Fans Festival," which topped $270 million in online sales making it one of the largest ecommerce events in China, the company said on Thursday.
"We are humbled by the consumers' response to our superphones in the flash sales," Atul Jain, LeEco COO, said in a statement. "We recognise that there is a huge pent up demand for our flagship killer – Le 1s and the super-premium Le Max, which has been the prime motivator for us to come up with this LeEco Day. We are confident that this innovative shopping carnival will witness unprecedented popularity among consumers."
LeEco also noted the success of its "Black 919" festival, a single-day event that witnessed the record sales of 572,000 Le Superphones and 355,000 Letv Super TVs on LeMall.com.
LeEco's Le 1s has been quite successful in India, despite competition from well-established brands like Lenovo, Huawei, Micromax and Xiaomi. During the first three flash sales of Le 1s, the company received 2.2 lakh orders within 31 seconds and more than 20 lakh registrations. The demand for the handset is likely the combination of premium specs and affordable price tag.
For Rs 10,999, the Le 1s smartphone offers 5.5-inch Full HD display, a 13-megapixel primary camera with PDAF, ultra fast focus, ISOCELL 5P Lens, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash, and a 5MP front snapper. It has a full metal body, a fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C connector. The Le 1s is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor, 3GB RAM, 3,000mAh battery and has 32GB fixed storage.
