LeEco is about to kick off its 2Future launch event in New Delhi on Wednesday, where it is expected to make a series of announcements. Rumours have it that the Chinese Internet conglomerate will announce its e-commerce platform, its offline presence and new smartphones at the event. The event begins at 12:30 p.m. IST and those who could not attend the event in New Delhi can live stream it from the comforts of their homes/offices.
LeEco's 2Future event is being live streamed on the company's official LeMall website and on its official YouTube channel. Currently, LeEco is showing off its product launches and achievements around the world, which also drops hints at what to expect from the company at the event.
LeEco announced on Tuesday that it has entered into the offline segment of sales in India with its highly popular Le 1s. LeEco's offline journey started in New Delhi and Mumbai, but it plans to reach 70 percent mobile retail stores across India by the end of September 2016.
"We have fast-tracked our growth trajectory in India and our entry into the physical retail space affirms it," Atul Jain, LeEco India COO, said in a statement. "Since our India launch, we're thrilled to have seen an incredible response from users and this landmark announcement is a step ahead in making our Superphones more accessible to our users. In the near future, also plan to have our own wholly owned retail stores across the country."
At the 2Future event, LeEco is widely expected to announce the Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 smartphones, which were launched in China last month. The three smartphones continue to offer the company's premium design and specifications. The biggest change in the new phones is the missing 3.5mm headphone jack, which has been replaced with a USB Type-C port, which according to the company delivers high-quality lossless audio.
LeEco is also expected to unveil its new virtual reality headsets and make some new announcements related to its content membership programme. With the company's offline debut, a lot more talk can be expected on those lines, especially LeEco's single brand retail stores in India.
