At least 16 people were seriously injured when a Russian defence ministry plane IL-18 crashed in Siberia's Bulun district on Monday, according to the BBC.
Reports state that there were 32 passengers and seven crew members onboard the aircraft at the time of the incident.
The Russian Emergency Ministry has deployed three Mi-8 helicopters for the search and rescue operation.
The wounded people are believed to be in a critical condition, aother seven people on the plane also required medical attention.
The plane was carrying out a scheduled flight from Kansk when it came down about 30km (18 miles) short of Tiksi at 04:45 (19:45 GMT Sunday).
The reason of the crash is believed to be poor weather conditions.
