We all are aware that Mahindra is readying the automatic version of its new Scorpio SUV for the auto market, and the automatic Scorpio has already made numerous appearances on the web through spy shots. But the thing that auto enthusiasts were waiting to learn was when will the model be seen on the road.
Now, it looks like Mahindra Scorpio automatic could hit the showrooms in India soon as the latest report by Motor Beam reveals that Mahindra has sent the details of Scorpio automatic for registration. The publication, which has managed to get its hands on the Scorpio automatic details, states that the model will be available in S6+, S8 and S10 trim levels of Scorpio.
The automatic Scorpio is likely to get the same 6-speed self-shifting hydraulic gearbox and specifications with regard to its styling and design remain the same, except for the 'Automatic' badging.
Power will come from the same 2.2l mHawk diesel engine, which is tuned to pump in 120 PS power @ 4000 rpm and 280 Nm torque between 1800 to 2800 rpm and Scorpio automatic is expected to get a price tag of around ₹1 lakh higher than the current model.
