Popular Indian smartphone maker Lava on Tuesday launched the budget quad-core smartphone, Iris 458Q, for ₹8,999.
The new Lava Iris 458Q sports a 4.5-inch FWGA capacitive screen with 480x854p display resolution and runs on the latest Android mobile OS v4.2 Jelly Bean. It packs 512 MB RAM and 4GB in-built memory which can be further expanded up to 32GB through a microSD card.
Considering its modest price-tag, Lava Iris 458Q is the cheapest smartphone that pack a quad-core processor. No other smartphone in the range of sub-₹9,000 boasts of a four-core chipset in the current market.
During the launch, Founder and Director of Lava Mobiles, SN Ravi said, "Innovation and understanding of consumer needs are a couple of key strengths for LAVA and that helps us introduce powerful smartphones across various price segments for all users. The IRIS 458q is our latest offering for users who love to carry a stylish smartphone with the latest technology without burning a hole in the pocket," reported AndroidOS.in.
According to reports, the new Lava Iris 458Q is expected to hit retail stores in the coming days. As of now, it can be purchased through online store Infibeam.com for ₹8,499.
