Lava introduced three new budget smartphones suitable for Indian consumers with a focus on bringing high-speed 4G connectivity to mobile users at an affordable price. Lava A72 and A76 were launched on Thursday, while the company said the A89 will be available in the coming weeks.
The new range of Lava 4G smartphones come with VoLTE support that ensures better voice quality and run Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. All three phones are powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processors combined with 1GB RAM and 8GB expandable storage. The smartphone maker guaranteed that the A72 and A89 smartphones will get the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but did not mention the timeline.
Lava A76 is the lowest of them all in terms of price. The A76 comes with a price tag of Rs. 5,699, while the A72 and A89 cost Rs. 6,499 and Rs. 5,999, respectively. Lava did not reveal certain details such as the handsets' display resolutions and the battery life. But the company noted some interesting additions that make these new phones attractive. According to the company, all three phones can record videos in HD and support HD video playback.
The devices support multi-tasking while playing videos in the background and using the phone for other tasks. The music player can be controlled without turning the screen on and gesture support makes it easy to access certain apps without having to navigate through multiple menus. The devices have flip to mute function, LED flash on incoming calls and auto call recording features as well.
