Home grown smartphone maker, Lava International Ltd. has launched an affordable voice-calling tablet PC IvoryS in India.
The new Lava device sports 7.0-inch WSVGA (1024x600p) TFT LCD screen and ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, 1.3GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor paired with Mali 40 graphics, 1GB DDR3 RAM. Though it comes with a mere 4GB inbuilt memory, it is compensated via microSD card slot, which allows the user to expand the storage up to 32GB.
Budget tablet IvoryS also houses dual-cameras - one 3.2-megapixel primary camera with flash support on the rear side and another 0.3-megapixel (VGA) snapper on the front for video chat. Other stipulated features include 2800 mAh battery, 3G network support, Dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS/EDGE (for navigation).
Lava IvoryS has been priced ₹8,499, but the details regarding the availability of the device in the market is still under the wraps.
Once released, the competitively priced Lava tablet PC will compete with the domestic rivals such as iBall 3G 7271 HD70, HCL ME Connect V3 Tablet, Micromax Canvas Tab, Swipe MTV Slash Tablet and MNC brands Lenovo Idea Tab A1000 and others.
