It's been only a few days since Lava Mobiles began promotional activity on the upcoming phone, understood to be the rival to Micromax's YU Yureka on its website. However, an online store blew the cover away by revealing the device's name, price and specifications details.
Popular e-commerce firm Flipkart accidentally (or intentional?) listed the yet-to-be announced Lava Iris X8 for ₹8,999 on its website. Once the word got out in the media, the online shop pulled the web-page down. However, by then some tech blogs had taken a screen-shot of the page.
In the Flipkart's listing (courtesy, FoneArena), Lava Iris X8 looks like a clone of iPhone 5S. Sans the Volume rocker and power button placements, it is strikingly identical to the Apple's 2013 smartphone.
Under the hood, it is said to ship with Android 4.4 KitKat OS, 1.4GHz MediaTek Octa-core SoC (System on Chip), 2GB RAM, 8.0-megapixel camera with Dual-LED flash, a 3.0-megapixel snapper on the front and a 2500 mAh battery.
As of now, there is no word when the new Iris X8 will hit stores in India. But once released, Lava smartphone will be competing with popular Micromax YU Yureka, Xiaomi Redmi Note, Lenovo A6000, Moto G (Gen 1) and others.
