Lava launched a new mid-range smartphone suitable for Indian market in order to compete with fast-growing rivals. The Lava Iris Icon is a bundle of decent features offered at an affordable price. Equipped with a HD display and an impressive Sony Exmor 13MP primary camera, the Iris Icon sells for ₹11,990 exclusively via Snapdeal starting today (9 April).
The new handset has a unique design and measures just 7.7mm thin. It sits well within Lava's extensive portfolio of Iris smartphones offered in the country.
Lava offers a 5-inch HD IPS display in its Iris Icon, protected by Asahi Dragontrail glass panel. The smartphone offers an impressive 13-megapixel rear-facing Sony Exmor BSI II sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 5-piece lens with an LED flash. There's least disappointment for those who love taking selfies, as the Iris Icon sports a 5-megapixel front facing Omni vision snapper.
Under the hood, the new Lava smartphone features a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage with expandable option up to 32GB via microSD card.
The Iris Icon packs a 2,500mAh battery, offering up to 9 hours of 3G talk-time 20 hours on 2G and up to 430 hours on standby. Sadly, the handset does not boast of 4G LTE, but the feature is rarely used in India as the country is still in the process of deploying the new bandwidth. It is powered by Google's Android 4.4 KitKat with custom Star OS.
Lava Iris Icon is available exclusively via Snapdeal for Rs 11,990, making it a suitable Moto G (2nd Gen) and the upcoming Asus Zenfone 2. The handset will also be available at select retail stores but those who order the smartphone online will get a free selfie stick.
