Indigenous smartphone maker, Lava International Ltd. has launched a mid-range phablet dubbed as Iris 550Q in India.

Lava Iris 550Q flaunts a 5.5-inch True HD (1280x720p) IPS screen and ships with Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box.

Under the hood, it comes loaded with a quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card) and is backed by a high-capacity battery which can power the phone for up to 500 hours under standby mode.

The mid-range Lava phablet also boasts of a 8.0-megapixel camera with BSI sensor 2, CMOS sensor, LED flash, HDR, 4X zoom, full HD recording, whereas on the front side, the phone houses a 2.0-megapixel camera (with CMOS sensor) for video chat.

Lava Iris 550Q phablet comes with a pocket-friendly price tag of ₹13,000 and is said to be made available in the market this month. The new phone will be competing with Karbonn Titanium S9, Micromax Canvas XL A119, Canvas Doodle 2 A240 among others.
