Lava Mobiles has expanded its Iris series with yet another Android smartphone dubbed as Iris 455.
It was launched in India as part of the company's Blockbuster Phoneday launch scheme which announces one device every Friday.
The phone sports 4.5-inch capacitive touch display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution. It is powered by 1GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
The handset measures 9.92mm thick and weighs 120 grams and packs 512MB RAM along with 4GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB with microSD. On the connectivity front, the phone supports 3G (HSDPA 7.2Mbps; HSUPA: 5.76 Mbps), WIFI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and AGPS.
Iris 455 houses 5MP rear camera with Autofocus, LED flash, Face detection, Panorama Shot and HDR, and a VGA front-facing camera. It packs 1500 mAh battery which promises up to six hours talk time. The handset comes with pre-installed apps like Fusion, Saavn, Saving Private Sheep, Hike, Cricket Fever, Aircontrol and Lava Zone.
The Dual SIM phone is expected to reach the retail stores next week. The company is yet to reveal the price tag of its new Android phone but it is expected to fall in the affordable price bracket considering Lava's earlier launches.
The company had announced two feature phones in the last week of March namely Arc 8c and Arc 3. Both the phones are priced below ₹1,800 brackets. Lava Arc 8c is a CDMA phone with a 2.2 inch display and 0.3 megapixel primary camera. On the other hand Lava Arc 3 is a GSM phone and comes with similar specifications as Arc 8.
