Indigenous smartphone maker Lava International Ltd has announced a budget quad-core smartphone, dubbed Iris 406Q.
Priced just under ₹7,000, Lava's new phone is the cheapest feature-rich handset in the market. It boasts Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core CPU, 400 MHz Adreno 302 graphics engine, 1GB RAM and 4GB (expandable up to 32GB) and ships with Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS, with a guarantee of receiving the latest v4.4 KitKat software update.
Other stipulated specifications include 5.0-megapixel main camera (with LED flash, HDR mode, 4x digital zoom, HD video recording), 0.3-megapixel (VGA) snapper on the front, 1700 mAh Li-Ion battery and on the connectivity front, it comes with Dual-SIM slots, 3G network support, Bluetooth (with A2DP), Wi-Fi and A-GPS for navigation.
As of now, Lava Iris 406Q is only available for pre-order on Flipkart and is expected to be released to the market in the third week of April.
Earlier this week, Lava launched mid-range smartphone Iris Pro 20 in India for ₹13,999. It sports a 4.7-inch qHD (960x540p) IPS screen and runs on outdated Android v4.2.1 Jelly Bean, powered by 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM and 4GB memory (expandable up to 32GB).[for more information, click here]
