A disturbing video, which shows Lana Del Rey being raped by director Eli Roth and also features Marilyn Manson, is being called a hoax by reps from Manson camp.
Viewers however are still outraged at the footage, with many saying that the young singer was 'sick' to have agreed for such a brutal 'abuse' video.
While both Del Rey and Roth are yet to make a statement, Manson's representatives are calling the video fake and say that it is an edited hoax video with superimposed images of Del Rey and Manson.
Manson representatives have told Pitchfork that Manson has nothing to do with the leaked video. "Manson did not direct this, shoot it, nor was it for a Marilyn Manson video or outtake footage made by him or to be used by him with his music," the rep said.
"It must be a fan video splicing up old Manson video footage with someone else's Lana Del Rey footage."
However, reports claim that the video that purports to show Del Rey getting raped was shot last year and director Roth, known for his movie "Hostel", was referring to this video, when he mentioned about working with Del Rey and Manson on a 'sick' video.
Roth had told Larry King that he had worked with Del Rey and Manson for a video that was "so sick it has been locked in a vault for over a year."
On Thursday night, the over two minute video clip was released online but was quickly pulled down by YouTube.
Watch Video
The video, which appears to condone violence on women, has a scene where another woman is seen with blood oozing out of her mouth.
The rape scene involving Del Rey appears on the 27-second mark, where Roth is seen violently assaulting the young singer. Another scene in the video shows balloons emblazoned with the word "RAPE" decorate a horrific birthday party.
Some news outlets have reported that the video is called "Sturmgruppe," however, most of the footage — excluding the Del Rey rape scene and the party balloons with "rape" written on them— made it into the final video for Manson's "No Reflection," directed by Lukas Ettlin.
The video despite being branded as hoax has garnered much criticism on social media.
