Lamborghini India just launched Huracan LP580-2 rear-wheel drive for Rs 2.99 crore in November and now, the Italian sports car maker is gearing up for another launch before 2016. The Facebook page of Lamborghini's Delhi dealership teased a picture of Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder, suggesting an imminent launch.
The Huracan Spyder features the same design and powertrain of the Huracan LP 610-4 coupe except the roof. The new hydraulically controlled soft top can be lowered in 17 seconds, while the car is driving at a speed of up to 50kmph. When the roof folded down, two fins rise from the rear of the seats; this improves aerodynamics and aids in airflow to the engine compartment.
The drop top version of the Huracan is powered by the same naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine that develops 602bhp of power at 8,250rpm and 560Nm of torque mated to seven speed dual clutch transmission and all wheel drive. The Spyder required additional 0.2seconds to match the 3.2 seconds 0-100kmph speed of Coupe sibling before reaching the top speed of 324kmph.
The supercar features 'Cylinder on demand' -- cylinder deactivation technology -- in combination with a stop-and-start system for lower CO2 emissions. The sports car also features lightweight chassis and aerodynamic spoiler and diffuser that help in increased down force.
Lamborghini India launched Huracan LP610-4 in India for Rs 3.43 crore (ex-showroom) in September last year. The Spyder version is expected to be pricier than the coupe version.
