Khloe Kardashian is said to have split up with rapper French Montana, and this has prompted her estranged husband Lamar Odom to try his luck once again with the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star, a new report claims.
Kardashian started dating Montana sometime in April this year, after parting ways with Odom over his drug abuse and cheating ways. Although it remains doubtful if Kardashian would take him back, a source was quoted as saying by In Touch magazine that Kardashian's recent heartbreak might work in Odom's favour.
The split will "make it that much easier for him to get back with her and be her husband," the source said. "He wasn't too fond of that rapper anyway and thought he was a sucker- Khloe's rebound man!"
The source added that Odom was sure that Kardashian's affair with Montana wouldn't last long.
"Real love always wins in the end. He knew that wasn't going to last. French was there so she could get her mind off Lamar. We all know that. He did his job, played the role he was supposed to play, and now he's gone. Just like that!" the source said.
While Odom might be happy at the possibility of a second chance with Kardashian, her mother Kris Jenner isn't too fond of the prospect of her daughter reconciling with her estranged husband.
"Kris is worried sick that Khloe will take Lamar back now that she's done with French. Kris thinks Khloe is very vulnerable right now and the last thing she needs to do is jump back into a relationship with Lamar," a family friend told HollywoodLife.
"Kris always feared this would happen because she knew, as Khloe's mother, that her daughter wasn't over Lamar. Call it a mother's instinct," the insider added.
On the heels of his high-profile break up with the reality show star, People magazine caught up with Montana at Hard Rock Hotel's Vanity Nightclub on Friday, and he seemed to be in high spirits. "I'm feeling great," he told People. "Feeling great and looking even better."
However, he admitted that all's not well in his personal life. "[I am] working on movies and my album and making sure all my artists are straight," he said. "And definitely try to get rid of all these problems I got." And when asked about his problems, Montana replied, "Baby mama drama and all kind of different [stuff]."
