Indian fashion world will see child models making their first step on the ramp at The Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2014, which will be held from 20 to 24 August in Mumbai.
Renowned toy shops Hamley's and Mattel are about to host the first kid's fashion show in association with Barbie and Hot Wheels. The wonderful opportunity to walk the ramp will be given to 20 selected children of six to 12 years of age from across the country.
Children, who would like to take part in the first ever kid's fashion show, will have to attend a workshop and participate in city-wise auditions conducted by Hamley's. The workshop and the audition will be conducted at Hamley's stores across New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Pune and Chandigarh. The 20 young models selected will then fly to Mumbai for the fashion show.
The children will walk the ramp wearing the latest collection from Barbie for the girls and from Hot Wheels for the boys.
"Through this association with LFW and Mattel, we are trying to find mini fashionistas and create an out-of-this-world experience," Reliance Brands CEO Darshan Mehta told India.com. It was through a partnership with Reliance Brands that Hamley's was launched in India.
