Laila Majnu, an adaptation of the classic and tragic love story, starring two debutants Tripti Dimri and Avinash Tiwari has finally released in theatres on September 7 and it has been getting rave reviews from the audience. The movie has been directed by Imtiaz Ali's brother Sajid Ali and produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Preety Ali.
The trailer of Laila Majnu too got a good response from the audience and loved almost all the songs in it. The story is about two lovers who are unable to unite as they face opposition from their families. While the boy is exiled from the town after committing a murder, the girl is married to another man.
Laila Majnu has opened to almost 5 per cent occupancy in theatres in morning shows better than Manoj Bajpayee starrer Gali Guleiyan which is quite good for a newcomer film. The storyline and screenplay has managed to keep the audience hooked to their seats. The newcomers have come out shining brightly in their debut and director Avinash Tiwary is also being lauded for making the film engaging and interesting.
