Eight people were killed and eight others were injured in what is being described as a powerful blast outside the Police Lines at Lahore on Tuesday.
Reports have suggested that one of the dead in the explosion could have been the suicide bomber who carried out the blast.
The area has been cordoned off as search operation is underway.
The blast has been described as so powerful that windows of nearby buildings were shattered.
According to the local Tribute newspaper, a suicide bomber walked up to a hotel outside the Police Lines and blew himself up. The blast was followed by rapid gunfire, an eyewitness told Reuters.
PM Nawaz Sharif quickly condemned the blast and extended condolences to those who died.
