Nayanthara, who is the most-sought after actress in South India, is unstoppable after winning appreciation and commercial success for her recent movies. Now, the actress, who commands a good market today, seems to have bagged a biggie.
If the latest buzz is to be believed, Nayanthara has bagged Kamal Haasan's Indian 2. "Huge Buzz: #LadySuperstar #Nayanthara in talks to play the lead heroine role in #Indian2. #Vadivelu is in talks for the comedian part. #KamalHaasan - #Shankar . [sic]" industry observer Kaushik LM tweeted.
It has to be noted that Vadivelu has also been approached for the film. The comedian was part of Kamal Haasan's earlier films like Thevar Magan, Maharasan, etc.
Reports state that Nayanthara has been approached and the dates are being worked out. Official confirmation is awaited.
The upcoming movie is a sequel to Kamal Haasan and Shankar's blockbuster Indian. The film saw Kamal Haasan in dual roles (father and son). Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar had played the female lead roles in the flick. An old man (Kamal) gets frustrated looking at the prevailing corruption and decides to uproot it from the system.
Recently, Kamal Haasan said that he cannot make movies like Varumayin Niram Sigappu, Anbe Sivam and Thevar Magan anymore given the current political situation. "Who knows? They might create problems for my Indian 2," The Times of India quoted him as saying.
Indian 2 was formally announced at the grand finale of Bigg Boss Tamil last year with Dil Raju producing the flick. But the producer opted out of the film for some reasons and Lyca Productions, which is funding Shankar and Rajinikanth's next flick 2.0, took over the project.
