Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his engagements in the Kyrgyz capital by laying a wreath at the Victory Monument in Bishkek on Sunday morning.
"Paying homage to martyrs in the cause of peace. PM @narendramodi lays a wreath at the Victory Monument in Bishkek," tweeted the external affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup.
"The Eternal Flame burns on as the prime minister lays a wreath at the Victory Monument in Bishkek," he tweeted.
Modi arrived in Bishkek late Saturday night from the Turkmenistan capital of Ashgabat.
He was received by the Kyrgyz Prime Minister Temir Sariyev at the airport.
Kyrgyzstan is the penultimate stop of his Central Asian tour. He has visited Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Ufa in Russia for the BRICS and SCO summits. He travels to Tajikistan later and returns on Monday.
