Producer Ekta Kapoor's Bollywood movie "Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3" (KKHH 3), which opened to good response, has shown a steep decline in its collection at the Indian box office on its second day.
"Kya Kool Hain Hum 3" is the third instalment in hit erotic-comedy film series of "Kyaa Kool Hain Hum". The huge success of the first two films had created a lot of curiosity about this movie. The makers have spent a hefty sum and made massive promotion of the flick. Trade experts predicted that it would start with a bang and become the hat-trick success for the producers of the series.
As predicted, the franchise factor and pre-release promotion helped the movie register decent amount of occupancy on its opening day. In fact, it did fantastic business at single screens and B & C centers. Despite clashing with Akshay Kumar's "Airlift", "Kya Kool Hain Hum 3" collected Rs 8.15 crore nett at the Indian box office on the first day.
"Kya Kool Hain Hum 3" smashed the opening day collection record of its prequel "Kya Super Kool Hain Hum". The second instalment was the biggest opener in the series with its first day business of Rs 7.12 crore in the domestic market. Now, this movie has become the biggest opener in the series.
But the movie, starring Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani and Mandana Karimi, received mixed response from the audience, who felt the movie lacked the punch of the first two instalments. The word of mouth took a toll on its business and the film witnessed around 35% drop in collections on Saturday when compared to its opening day collection.
"Kya Kool Hain Hum 3" grossed Rs 5.50 crore nett at the box office on its second day. Its two-day domestic total stands at Rs 13.65 crore nett. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#KyaaKoolHainHum3 declines on Day 2. Fri 8.15 cr, Sat 5.50 cr. Total: ₹ 13.65 cr. India biz."
