Kunchacko Boban's upcoming Malayalam movie "Valliyum Thetti Pulliyum Thetti" (VTPT) is looking to hit the theatres during Vishu season in April. The movie is the directorial debut of Rishi Shiva Kumar, who has also scripted the film.
The romantic comedy has been in the news ever since the makers announced the heroine of the movie: It marks the comeback of actress Shamlee to Malayalam films after 18 years. Shamlee, sister of actress Shalini and sister-in-law of Thala Ajith, began her acting career at the age of two in the Tamil movie "Rajanadai."
She won the National Film Award for Best Child Artiste for her performance in Mani Ratnam's 1990 film "Anjali", and the Kerala State Film Award for playing the titular role in Bharathan's "Malootty" in 1992. Some of her other notable movies are "Pookkalam Varavayi," "Kilukkampetti," "Nirnayam" and "Harikrishnans".
Meanwhile, Kunchacko Boban, who has "Vettah," "School Bus," and "Shajahanum Pareekuteem" in his kitty, began his acting career opposite Shamlee's sister Shalini in director Fazil's 1997 movie "Aniyathipravu."
The makers have also released the colourful first look posters of the movie featuring Kunchacko and Shamlee. The posters show movie is set in a village in 1989, as a poster of Mohanlal's hit Malayalam movie "Vandanam" is also seen in the background of one of them. While Kunjunni S Kumar has handled the cinematography, Sooraj S Kurup has composed the music for "Valliyum Thetti Pulliyum Thetti."
Produced by Faisal Latheef under the banner of Achappu Films, "Valliyum Thetti Pulliyum Thetti" also has Manoj K Jayan, Renji Panikkar, Saiju Kurup, Suresh Krishna, Krishna Sanker, Aneesh G Menon, Nandan Unni and Midhun Nair in pivotal roles.
