Kunchacko Boban and Manju Warrier's upcoming film "Vettah" is set to go on floors on Friday, 25 September.
Rajesh Raman Pillai, the director of the film, is producing the film in association with AVA Productions. It is his maiden production venture.
The upcoming psychological thriller also has Bhama, Vijayaraghavan, Prem Prakash, Deepak Parambol and Rony David Raj in pivotal roles. It was recently reported that Indrajith Sukumaran will also be featured in the film as Assistant Police Commissioner Sailex Abraham.
The film will mainly be shot in Ernakulam and Vandiperiyar. While Manju will be seen playing police commissioner Sribala, the name of Kunchacko's character is Melvin.
The director had previously said the film is based on some inspiring women cops like Sandhya IPS, Sreelekha IPS and Nishantini IPS. Thus, Manju's character of Bala will be realistic, not like the usual bold on-screen cops that the audience are familiar with.
The film will narrate a mind-boggling story involving three people. The fast-paced narrative of "Vettah" has been written by Arunlal Ramachandran and the cinematography has been handled by Anish Lal RS. While Shaan Rahman has composed the music, Abhilash Balachandran will act as the editor.
Rajesh has previously directed hit films like "Traffic" (2011) and "Mili" (2014).
