Ever since the Kumkum Bhagya spin-off, titled Kundali Bhagya, has been announced, fans have been eagerly waiting for the show to go on air.
And now, the lead actor of the spin-off has been finalised. Dheeraj Dhoopar, who played the male lead in Sasural Simar Ka, has been roped in for Kundali Bhagya, India Forums reported.

Dheeraj, who played the role of Prem, was associated with Sasural Simar Ka for five years before he decided to quit for better opportunities. However, the hunt for the lead actress opposite Dheeraj is still on.
While Kumkum Bhagya revolves around the life of Abhi Mehra (Shabir Ahluwalia) and Pragya Mehra (Sriti Jha) and their on-and-off relationship, Kundali Bhagya might focus on the story of Pragya's family, especially her father.
The spin-off will replace Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani at the 9:30 pm slot. Since Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani is set to go off air on July 4, the new show is expected to start from July 5 onwards.
Meanwhile, Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya continues to top the television rating charts (TRPs). With the launch of the spin-off, Pragya-Abhi's show has become the second show on Indian Television to have a spin-off, after Star Plus launched the first ever spin-off of the popular show, Ishqbaaaz, titled Dil Bole Oberoi.
