While there has been an increasing trend of introducing leaps in the storyline of television shows, the makers of "Kumkum Bhagya" have decided to take the unusual route and undergo a plot rewind.
In the ongoing track, Abhi (Shabir Ahluwalia) has met with a car accident. However, it has been reported that he would be saved by Pragya (Sriti Jha), who would locate his car and rush him to the hospital.
Soon after this, Abhi will be shown to have suffered partial memory loss. He will only remember his relationship with Tanu (Leena Jumani) and will fail to recollect his wedding with Pragya. With Abhi's partial memory loss track, all the characters will look and behave the way they did three years ago to help him remember things. Pragya, who transformed herself into a bold lady, will be back as the simple, demure girl. Abhi will be seen as a rockstar, while Tanu will play a supermodel.
Pragya's bold avatar had received overwhelming response from the viewers. However, it now remains to be seen if the audience will be thrilled or disappointed to see Pragya back in her old de-glam look.
Also, one can't help but wonder if Pragya's sister Bulbul (played by Mrunal Thakur) will also return to the show, considering she played a prominent role before Abhi-Pragya's wedding took place. Mrunal, who rose to popularity with "Kumkum Bhagya," had quit the show due to the unending track of the show's lead actors and also because her character didn't have much to offer. However, with "Kumkum Bhagya" undergoing a plot rewind, it would be a treat to the fans of Mrunal, if the bubbly actress re-enters the show, even for a cameo role.
