Shikha Singh, who plays the role of Aaliya Mehra on the popular show, "Kumkum Bhagya," is apparently making an exit from the show. The actress is said to be unhappy with the way her character is shaping up.
According to India Forums, the show has been revolving around the characters Nikhil (Nikhil Arya), Tanu (Leena Jumani) and Pragya (Sriti Jha) ever since Shikha went on a break after she got married. However, even after Shikha resumed shoot, the makers have been continuing to focus on the trio as the track has been garnering good ratings. This seems to have upset the actress.
"Aaliya aka Shikha Singh might leave the show. Shikha is planning to leave the show as she is not too happy with the way her track is shaping up. The lady was on a break as she recently got married, so the writers intentionally focused the track on Nikhil-Tanu-Pragya angle. But looking at the wonderful response from the audience, the storyline continued focusing on the trio, even after Shikha resumed the shoot," a source told the website.
However, Shikha refuted the rumour, stressing that she is very much part of the show. "It's nothing like that. I am not leaving the show," she said. Meanwhile, the Times of India reported that Shikha doesn't want to continue to be a part of the show and has expressed her displeasure with the production house already.
Shikha had got married to her long time boyfriend Karan Shah on May 1, 2016. While the wedding was a private affair with only close friends and family in attendance, the reception was attended by several celebrities, including Sriti, Arijit Taneja and Leena, who are Shikha's co-stars from "Kumkum Bhagya," and former co-actress Mrunal Thakur.
