Ever since Salman Khan starrer "Sultan" started making news, speculations regarding the leading ladies of the film have been doing the rounds.
While several names, including Kangana Ranaut, Parineeti Chopra and Deepika Padukone, had been associated with the film, it looks like the makers have finally zeroed in one of the female actresses of the film.
According to reports, "Kumkum Bhgaya" actress Mrunal Thakur, who plays the role of Bulbul, has been approached by the makers.
"Mrunal has been approached to play one of the two heroines in Sultan. At the moment, things aren't finalised as yet," a source told Bollywood Life.
However, when the telly actress was asked if she is a part of "Sultan", she said "No comments".
Meanwhile, Mrunal has quit "Kumkum Bhagya" due to the unending track of the lead actors of the show and also because her character didn't have much to offer.
While Mrunal chose to remain mum about her Bollywood debut opposite Salman, the timing of her exit from the show hints that the actress has bagged the mega project.
"Sultan" will see Salman playing a 40-year-old wrestler. The "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" actor is undergoing a strict physical regimen to get into the skin of the character and is being trained in mixed martial arts by Hollywood action director Larnell Stovall and his team.
The makers have started shooting Salman's portions without the leading actresses as the film's release date has already been announced and they don't want to delay the project.
"We have begun shooting so that we meet our deadline as the release date has already been announced and we do not want to delay the project," a source told the entertainment portal.
