Here's some good news for fans of Arijit Taneja aka Purab of "Kumkum Bhagya." The actor, who was said to be serving his notice period after putting in his papers, would continue to be a part of the show till September.
Arijit, who rose to popularity with the show, was supposed to wrap up his shoot on Aug.12. But the makers have not finalised the replacement for Arijit's character and hence his exit has been delayed. However, Arijit chose to keep mum on rumours about his exit. "Nothing is confirmed yet," he told India Forums.
It was earlier reported that Arijit had decided to quit as his character lost the limelight over a period of time. Although Purab and Bulbul's chemistry was loved by millions, ever since Mrunal Thakur aka Bulbul quit the show, Arijit's character seemed to have lost prominence. However, if the latest report turns out to be true, it would be a treat to fans of the actor, who would love to watch him for another month.
Recently, Ankit Mohan, who played Abhi's (Shabir Ahluwalia) cousin Akash, also took the exit route. The actor bagged a bigger project, which prompted his decision to leave the popular daily soap. Ankit wrapped up his shoot on Aug.15.
Meanwhile "Kumkum Bhagya" has topped the Television Rating Points (TRPs) chart for week 33 (Aug.13 to 19). The show received a viewership of 11.29 million and was the most watched TV show in urban areas. The series is currently revolving around Abhi, who is busy with his new music album after partially losing his memory. His wife Pragya (Sriti Jha), on the other hand, is devastated since Abhi can't remember her.
