Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi is a modern day love story with a blend of traditional values. Although the storyline is simple, it has connected with the audience mostly because of its realistic angles. The performance of the cast has also been one of the reasons for the show's success.
While ardent viewers may have been following the show religiously, some of you may have missed the recent episodes. So here's the drama that happened on the show this week (October 24-28).
Dev (Shaheer Sheikh) and Sonakshi (Erica Fernandes) were planning their honeymoon in Paris. The family seemed happy with their decision to spend some romantic time in the City of Love, except for two people – Ishwari (Supriya Pilgaonkar) and Neha (Chestha Bhagat). Ishwari, who is insecure with Dev's love for Sonakshi, didn't like the fact that her son will be away from her for 15 days. She assured herself that Dev would drop the plan since he has never been away from her for so long. Neha, on the other hand, is jealous of her brother and sister-in-law since she herself is dealing with marital stress.
Unperturbed by what's happening in the house, Dev and Sonakshi were lost in their world and happily shopping for their honeymoon.
Later, Ishwari, in an attempt to cancel Dev-Sonakshi's honeymoon, emotionally blackmailed Dev, making him feel guilty for having prioritised his happiness over his sister's. She also questioned Dev if he would be able to stay away from her for so long and to this Dev replied that her daughter-in-law would take care of him. Dev's reply hurt Ishwari and the fear of losing her son made her fall sick. Fans are aware of Dev's weakness for his mother and her health, and this time Ishwari's ill-health worked in her favour.
Dev decided to cancel his honeymoon on the day they were supposed to fly. He announced to the family that since Ishwari was unwell and Neha was disturbed, it would not be a good idea for him and Sonakshi to travel abroad. He also assured Ishwari that he would resolve the issues between Neha and her estranged husband, Ranveer.
Although Sonakshi was visibly upset, she chose not to express her displeasure and rather help Dev solve matters. On hearing about Ishwari's poor health, the Bose family paid a visit to the Dixit house and told their daughter Sonakshi not to cancel the trip since there are many people in the house to take care of Ishwari and Neha's issues can be sorted out once they are back.
Neha overheard the conversation and created a ruckus later. She accused Sonakshi for having discussed her problems with outsiders and calling her responsible for the cancelled trip. However, Dev handled the situation well.
The next day, Sonakshi met Ranveer in the market and invited him home, hoping that he and Neha would sort out their problems. But much to Sonakshi's disappointment, Neha and Ishwari get miffed with her for having invited Ranveer without consulting Neha. Ranveer informed the family that he had been trying to talk to Neha over the phone but she refused to answer his calls.
What's good? Sonakshi's parents supported their daughter instead of asking her to sacrifice her happiness. Dev stood by his wife when Neha blasted her in front of the family.
What's bad? Ishwari doesn't understand that Dev has had his shares of troubles and is currently in a happy phase. She doesn't allow them to go on their honeymoon even though they need more time to understand each other. Although Dev regrets not being able to take Sonakshi to Paris, he didn't talk to her before cancelling the trip.
Conclusion: The central plot of Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi is the bond between mother and son, and her insecurities after his marriage. Hence, viewers should be prepared to witness many such sacrifices of Dev and Sonakshi for the family.
