Austrian bike maker KTM has started the shipment of its newly launched RC 390 and RC 200 bikes to the dealerships of the company in the country.
The new RC series, KTM's newest offering after the Duke line-up was launched in the country on 9 September. The bikes RC 390 and RC 200, the fully faired versions of KTM's successful Duke 390 and Duke 200 have been priced at ₹2.05 lakh and ₹1.60 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The company has commenced the booking of RC 390 and RC 200 in the country with a token amount of 30,000 and now the emerging reports suggest the dealerships of the company have started receiving the bikes.
We do not know yet the bookings numbers of both RC 390 and RC 200 in India, but a new report of OverDrive says that the new RC series bikes are likely to have a waiting period of three months in India.
The report also notes that the on-road prices of RC 390 and RC 200 in Mumbai. Going by this, the RC 390 is priced at ₹2.30 lakh, while the RC 200 at ₹1.8 lakh (on-road Mumbai).
Under the hood, KTM RC 390 packs 375cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which can churn out a power of 43bhp and a torque of 35nm, whereas the KTM RC 200 gets the power from 200cc, single-cylinder engine that is tuned to generate 24bhp and 19nm .Both the engine come mated to 6-speed gearbox.
The duo comes with inverted telescopic front suspension and mono suspension at the rear. Other features on-board include dual LED daytime running lights and spilt seats.
The RC 390 features ABS and Metzeler tyres as standard; however, RC 200 like its Duke counter parts misses on these features.
In India, RC 390 competes with Honda CBR 300R, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha R25, whereas RC 200 takes on the likes of Hero Karizma ZMR and Yamaha R15.
