September is going to be a busy month for the Austrian two wheeler maker KTM as the company is preparing to launch its two new much anticipated bikes RC 200 and RC 390 in India.
We already know that KTM's much awaited RC 390 is reaching the Indian market on 9 September. Now a new Motorbeam report says that the company's RC 200 will also make its India debut on the same day along with RC 390. Although there were speculations about these two bikes launch in the country, the latest news is not surprising as the duo made their first appearance together at the EICMA International Motorcycle Exhibition.
The maker of the duo has not revealed anything yet regarding the launch date and the bookings, but unofficial reports suggest that the bookings are open for both the bikes in India with an advance payment of ₹30,000.
The RC series bikes are expected to pack some changes from their Duke counterparts. From what we know so far, the bikes will be featuring daytime running lights, new mirrors and a new pillion seat.
While the RC 390 motor will generate a power of 43.5 BHP and a peak torque of 19.2 Nm, the RC 200 will be tuned to make 25 BHP of power and 19.2 Nm torque. Both engines will come mated to a six-speed gearbox. If reports are to be believed, the RC 200 and 390 will get ABS as standard.
Regarding the prices of the RC series bike sin India, the RC 390 is likely to fall in the price range of ₹2.5 lakh, where as the RC 200 is expected to get a price tag around ₹2 lakh (on road, Mumbai).
Both the bikes will be sold through its India partner Bajaj Auto, which currently markets KTM Duke 200 and Duke 390 in the country and will take on the likes of Honda CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 300.
