Austrian motorcycle manufacturer has always been in the forefront for outdoor customer engagement activities. The company regularly conducts Orange days in different cities of the country, which gives KTM owners an opportunity to explore the potential of their motorcycles with races in a go kart type circuit.
The motorcycle company, in which Bajaj Auto holds 47.96% stake, is shifting gear this time and has announced the KTM Orange Cup, a one maker race in line with the one maker race series of Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki in India. The one day race event scheduled on 6 December starts at 6.30 am and will be held at MMSC race track at Irungattukottai, Chennai.
The race is exclusive for the owners of the KTM Duke 390 and RC 390. The event will be conducted as per the guidelines of FMSCI. The participants are required bring full race gear and riders are also required to wear a one piece leather suit. The two piece leather suits will be allowed only with 360 degrees zipper.
KTM is likely to conduct a qualifying lap if the turnout exceeds the limit. The company confirmed the participation limit and the aspiring contestants are required to get in touch with their nearest dealerships for registration.
KTM will conduct separate races for RC 390 and Duke 390 owners. No sharing of bikes would be allowed during the race and the company also confirmed the prize for the winners.
