The release date of one of the 2013's most-anticipated films, "Krrish 3", has been rescheduled to 1 November for the makers to cash in on the Diwali holiday.
The super-hero flick, starring Hrithik Roshan, was initially set to release on 4 November, but the makers decided to release it three days ahead of the initial date.
"Krrish 3" will now hit screens on Friday (1 November), like usual releases, instead of Monday (4 November). Since 1 November is Dhanteras, the film's makers hope that the Friday release will prove lucky for them.
"All the distributors who had acquired the film two years back requested Rakeshji to bring the film out on a Friday. The fate of the film could be affected by the mahurat of the Lakshmi puja. By releasing it on Friday, the film can enjoy two entire weeks at the box office, given that Ram Leela and Rajjo are releasing on November 15," Mid-Day quoted a source as saying.
Also, the long Diwali weekend of four days will be beneficial for the film, from a business perspective.
Confirming the release date, trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted, "Very right decision taken by Rakesh Roshan. #Krrish3 will hit screens on Friday (Nov. 1), AND NOT Monday (Nov. 4) as originally planned."
"Nov 1st is pre-diwali, but #Krrish3 is a huge film, 3 days of extra BO is there - so that "maybe" the advantage + for overseas a regular too," distributor Girish Johar said.
"Krrish 3" is among the most hyped films of 2013 and is Hrithik's first release of the year. The hype surrounding the film is also very strong which is certain to help its box office figures.
The science fiction film is the third installment in the "Krrish" series directed by Rakesh Roshan. Apart from Hrithik, the film also features Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi in lead roles.
