Hrithik Roshan starrer "Krrish 3" has raked in ₹72.8 crore in the first three days of its release at the domestic box office.
The first weekend collection of the superhero flick is inclusive of Tamil, Hindi and Telugu versions.
The first three-day earnings were in the same range. Friday's collection was the highest. On Saturday the business declined by 10 percent but on Sunday it picked up again.
However, due to Diwali the collection remained low on Saturday and Sunday as compared to the opening day.
The three-day breakup of the film according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh is: Friday ₹25.5 crore, Saturday ₹23 crore and Sunday ₹24.3 crore.
The film produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan opened to a roaring response on Friday by registering 100 percent occupancy at single screens in some circuits and 80-90 percent at multiplexes in urban sectors.
The opening weekend collection of "Krrish 3" is the second highest collection recorded this year.
Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express" remains at top with ₹100 crore, Ranbir Kapoor's "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" is now at third position with ₹62 crore and Saif Ali Khan's "Race 2" at fourth position with ₹52 crore.
Following the fantastic first weekend despite festivals, "Krrish 3" is now expected to break the lifetime collection records of two biggest hit films of this year "Chennai Express" and "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".
Till 14 November the film is expected to rule the domestic box offices as no major film is releasing in between. However, the release of "Ram-leela" might affect the collections of "Krrish 3".
