After Rajkumar Hirani's directorial Sanju, a biopic on Sanjay Dutt, was declared a blockbuster hit of 2018, it was believed that the film's success will help Sanjay revive his lost stardom.
Sanjay's comeback film Bhoomi, directed by Omung Kumar, had tasted failure. The actor had yet again tried his luck with director Tigmanshu Dhulia's royal saga of deceit, conspiracy, greed and lust with the movie Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3. The film's weak script and poor narration, however, failed to connect with the audience who left the theatres mid-way cussing the director, writer and all those people who were associated with the film.
Witnessing the poor run, the self-proclaimed film critic Kamaal Rashid Khan aka KRK, took no time in humiliating Sanjay for destroying the careers of two directors - Tigmanshu Dhulia and Omung Kumar - by delivering flops like Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 and Bhoomi.
"We salute Sanjay Dutt who successfully finished the career of 2 directors by 2 films. Tigmanshu is finished by #SahebBiwiAurGangster3 and Omang Kumar was finished by #Bhoomi! Love you Sanju sir," the official handle of KRK Box Office tweeted.
Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 opened to just around 8 to 10 percent occupancy in theatres across the country and earned Rs 1.75 crore on Friday solely because of Sanjay Dutt's star power. The movie witnessed a small growth on Saturday but it could not help it sail through the storm and reach the shore safely.
It also failed to live up to the mark of the critics and left them disappointed due to its screenplay. In fact, there was even a no show for Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 in many parts of the country as the audience did not find it worthy of spending their hard-earned money on it.
The third part of the franchise featured Sanjay Dutt as the Gangster, Mahie Gill as the Biwi and Jimmy Shergill as the Saheb. Saheb Biwi aur Gangster 3 is presented by Raju Chadha, produced by Rahul Mittra and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.
