Actress Kriti Kharbanda has been roped in for director Srinu Vaitla's upcoming film and she will reportedly appear as Mega Powerstar Ram Charan Teja's sister in the movie.
Reports suggest that the makers recently met Kriti and extended the offer, and narrated the script to her. The actress, who was reluctant to essay the supporting role, is said to have been impressed with her character and story and agreed to play the role of Ram Charan's sister in the film.
The Srinu Vaitla directorial, which is yet to be titled, will mark Kriti's comeback to Tollywood. "There's an interesting character in the film and the makers felt Kriti fitted the bill and they narrated the script to her and she was pleased to be part of the project," The Times of India quoted a source from the unit.
After "Naayak", DVV Danayya is once again teaming up with Ram Charan. He is producing the actor's next movie with a whopping budget. The producer has confirmed the casting of Kriti and said that her role is very crucial to the plot. "She is playing an important character in the film. She plays Ram Charan's sister not the second female lead," Danayya told Deccan Chronicle.
Born to a Punjabi family in New Delhi, Kriti moved to Bangalore in the early 90s with her family. After completing her graduation, she started her career as a model and featured in TV commercials of Bhima Jewellers, Spar and Fair and Lovely. She made her acting debut with Sumanth's Telugu film "Boni" in 2009.
Besides foraying into Kannada with "Chiru" in 2010, Kriti continued to feature in Tollywood movies "Ala Modalaindi", "Teen Maar", "Mr Nookayya" and "Ongole Githa". Her last Telugu film was "Om 3D", which released in theatres in 2013.
