As devotees across the country are celebrating Krishna Janmashtami (Aug.25), which marks the birth of Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Bollywood celebrities have taken out some time out from their busy lives to wish their followers on social media.
Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated annually and rituals vary from place to place. In Maharashtra, Dahi Handi, which is a major event during the festival, is celebrated in a grand manner. Rasa Lila (Raas Leela) is also organised where people perform various dance acts depicting Lord Krishna's life.
Katrina Kaif has posted a video wishing her fans "Happy Krishna Janmashtami." Madhuri Dixit Nene, Emraan Hashmi and others have posted beautiful messages on their Twitter handles.
