Nani's "Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha" (KVPG) has continued to keep the cash registers ringing at the US box office and made good collection in its third weekend.
"Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha" opened to fantastic response and collected $580,892 from 120+ screens at the US box office in the first week. "Krishnashtami" took a toll on its business by forcing it out of many theatres in the next week. The movie grossed $142,591 from 47 screens at the US box office in the second week.
It was predicted that new release, "Kshanam," would slow down the collection of "Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha" in its third week. As predicted, the Adivi Sesh starrer vacated the Nani starrer from 50 percent of the theatres that it was holding in its second week. The latter's theatre count was reduced to 23 screens in this week and its per-screen average has gone down by 35 percent.
"Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha" has collected $36,465 from 23 screens at the US box office in its third weekend. Its 17-day US total collection has now reached $759,948 [Rs 5.20 crore]. Its per-screen average stood at $3,494 in its first weekend and $2,537 in its second weekend. Now, it stands at $1,585.
Leading film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Telugu film #KrishnagaadiVeeraPremaGaadha USA Week 3: Fri $ 8,972, Sat $ 17,350, Sun $ 10,143. Total: $ 759,948 [â'¹ 5.20 cr]. #KVPG @Rentrak (sic)."
However, "Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha" was expected to be Nani's second movie to cross the $1-million mark in the country after "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy." But looking at its current pace of collection, one can say that this movie will not be able to surpass the $1-million mark in the country.
