Three Sabarimala pilgrims were killed and two injured when their car collided with a tempo traveller at National Highway Bypass at Azhinjillam in Kozhikode on Saturday early morning.
The five pilgrims are reportedly natives of Navanagar in Bagalkot district, Karnataka. The victims have been identified as Vinod, Ramesh and driver Sachin. The injured were admitted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
The pilgrims, who reached Lord Ayyappa Temple in Sabarimala on Thursday, were returning to Bagalkot on Friday evening.
Twelve passengers of the tempo traveller, who were also injured, have been hospitalised at Baby Memorial Hospital.
