Sasikumar-Varu Sarathkumar-Bala's Film Title Revealed
Recently, director Bala announced his new film with Sasikumar and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar in the lead roles.
The title of the film was kept as a secret, but now it has been revealed as "Thaarai Thappattai."
The film will have Varu appearing as a karakattam dancer, while Sasikumar will play the role of Nadaswaram expert. Sasikumar has reportedly removed his beard and will sport a pencil-thin Moustache.
Music maestro Ilaiyarajaa will be composing the songs for the film. It is being said that Bala's film will be Ilaiyaraaja's 1000th project, however, there is no official confirmation on the same.
"Uthama Villain" Shooting in Chennai
Kamal Haasan's "Uthama Villain" shooting is progressing at a brisk pace. The film went on floors in the first week of March in Bangalore.
After two weeks of shooting in the city, the team has moved to Chennai to continue shooting from Wednesday (19 March). "After a good shoot of 2 weeks in Bangalore, "Uttama Villain" continues in Chennai from tomorrow," film's director Ramesh Aravind tweeted on Tuesday.
"Uthama Villain," deemed as a comedy entertainer, will have Kamal Haasan playing a dual role - one that of an 8th century drama actor and the other one being a 21st century cinema superstar.
The film boasts of an ensemble cast including K Balachander, K Vishwanath, MS Bhaskar, Jayaram, Andrea Jeremiah and Parvathy Milton among others.
The Ramesh Aravind directorial is expected to hit the screens by this year end.
"Maan Karate" Trailer Goes Viral
The trailer of Sivakarthikeyan-Hansika starrer "Maan Karate" has gone viral on the Internet. The trailer, which was launched along with the audio on Sunday (16 March), has fetched more than 6 lakh hits on the video-sharing site YouTube. To look at the trailer, click HERE.
The film' songs, composed by Anirudh, have also been receiving rave reviews. The album topped the iTunes India list.
Kamal Haasan Campaigns Against Cash for Votes
Kamal Haasan has been roped in by the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission to campaign against cash for votes.
In a video released by the Election Commission, the actor has urged the public not to sell their self-respect and their future for a meager amount. "Don't vote by comparing which leader is paying more for voting. Think about in whose hands you are resting your future and then vote for the deserving leader. Don't sell your future and self-respect for a pittance," the actor said in the video.
"Let's vote with conscience and promise that under any circumstance we wouldn't sell our votes," he further added.
Sivakartikeyan's New Film with Director Ponram
Sivakarthikeyan is all set to team up with director Ponram for the second time after the success of "Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam."
The new film is expected to go on floors in June. Rumours are doing the rounds that the film has been titled "Rajini Murugan."
However, Behindwoods reports that the film's team is looking for some other apt title.
The team is hunting for an actress to play the female lead role. The film's music will be composed by Imman, who will start the work from next month. The Siva starrer, produced under Thirrupathi Brothers, is eyeing a September release this year, the website reported.
Karthi to Work with "Kutti Puli" Director
Actor Karthi is all set to team up with "Kutti Puli" director M Muthaiah. The actor is currently busy with his upcoming project directed by "Attakathi" Ranjith.
The shooting for his new film with Muthaiah is expected to go on floors in three months' time, according to a report in Behindwoods.
However, an official announcement on the film's cast and crew are still awaited.
