Ajith-Gautham Menon Film
According to the latest buzz, music composer Harris Jayaraj is all set to team up with director Gautham Menon in his new film, starring Ajith.
Earlier, speculations were rife that Oscar-winner AR Rahman or Anirudh might be working on the soundtrack of the Gautham-Ajith film. But now, reports claim that Harris will be teaming up with Gautham.
If the reports turn out to be true, then it would mark the reunion of the director-music composer duo, after 2008's "Vaaranam Aayiram".
Anushka Shetty is reportedly playing the female lead opposite Ajith. Details about the film's cast and crew are yet to be announced.
The official announcement is expected on 19 March.
Suriya's Character Will Have Grey Shades in Anjaan
Suriya's "Anjaan" shooting is progressing at a brisk pace in Mumbai. More than 70 percent of the film's shoot is reportedly complete.
The "Singam" star sports a stylish look in the Lingusamy directorial, with trendy hair and beard. He is reportedly playing a character who has grey shades.
"I play a South Indian living in Mumbai and my character has some grey shades too. The new look will suit the character that I am playing. Lingusamy's screenplay and characterization are exciting. There will be a lot of romance and action in the movie, in line with the director's trademark style. We are currently in Mumbai and after completing work here, most of the remaining part of the movie will be canned in Hyderabad," Suriya was quoted as saying by Behindwoods.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays the female lead opposite Suriya. Comedian Soori is reportedly also part of the project. Earlier, there were reports that Vivek will be starring in the film but his presence has not yet been confirmed.
"Anjaan" is slated to hit the screens on Independence Day.
"Vijay 57" Update
The shoot of the Vijay-ARMurugadoss film is progressing in Hyderabad. The director has revealed on his Twitter handle that a night shoot is going on in the Hyderabad streets.
He has also said that the film's team is working on the first look. Earlier, the buzz was that the first look poster of "Vijay 57" (tentatively titled) will be released on Tamil New Year's Day. However, there is no official confirmation on the same.
Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh will be playing the main villain in the Murugadoss directorial, which is slated to hit the screens for Diwali.
"Yennamo Yedho" Gets Clean "U"
Gautham Karthik's upcoming film "Yennamo Yedho", remake of Telugu film "Ala Modalaindi," has received a clean "U" certificate from the censor board.
The film will be Gautham's second outing, post his debut flick "Kadal" directed by Maniratnam.
Rakul Preet Singh is playing the female lead, whereas Prabhu, Nikeesha Patel and Anupama Kumar will be appearing in supporting roles.
The romantic comedy entertainer is gearing up for release by the month-end.
GV Prakash Signs Second Film
Music composer GV Prakash, who is making his debut as an actor in "Pencil", has signed his second film.
Interestingly, the film is titled as "Trisha Illana Nayanthara" and will be directed by newcomer Adhik, according to Behindwoods website.
The film, touted as a romantic comedy entertainer, will be produced by Rebel Studio, the banner which is producing Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming film "Mellisai".
