Kolavamu Kokila has occupied the numero uno place at the Chennai box office for the second consecutive weekend. Despite the release of a few new movies, Nayanthara's film has managed to pull the audience to theatres in good numbers.
In its second weekend, Kolamavu Kokila has grossed Rs 1.04 crore from 213 shows, reports Behindwoods. After earning Rs 1.61 crore from 264 shows in its first weekend, the movie had collected Rs 1.27 crore from 312 shows in the weekdays. The 10-day total collection of the flick stands at Rs 3.94 crore.
Prabhu Deva's Lakshmi is in the second place. The Tamil film has raked in Rs 72.21 lakh from 192 shows and it is considered to be an average opening.
Hollywood movie Alpha has got a decent opening by earning Rs 46.12 lakh from 135 shows whereas Telugu film Geetha Govindam has collected Rs 21.98 lakh from 78 shows to take its 10-day collection to Rs 1.33 crore.
The new Tamil release Echcharikkai is in the fifth place at the Chennai box office by earning Rs 11.62 lakh from 51 shows. The business of Harish Kalyan and Raiza Wilson's Pyaar Prema Kadhaal has collected Rs 10.81 lakh to take its total collection in Chennai to Rs 2.38 crore, which is a very good number for the newcomers' film.
Hindi film Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi has earned Rs 9.87 lakh from 42 shows, Kalari has collected Rs 7.83 lakh from 51 shows, Merku Thodarchi Malai has raked in Rs 6.73 lakh from 27 shows and Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam 2 has earned Rs 1.98 lakh from 18 shows to take its total tally to Rs 4.70 crore in the capital city of Tamil Nadu.
