Koffee With Karan 5: Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh's tongue-in-cheek humour earns Karan Johar a bad name?

Koffee With Karan 5 is turning out to be quite the controversial show. Light-hearted banter and pun-intended jokes hardly ever hurt, but there are a few who are not taking it well.

Apparently, a senior director isn't too impressed with the way host Karan Johar conducts himself on the chat show. Talking to the Asian Age, the anonymous filmmaker said that the kind of questions Johar asks his celebrity guests, who are, more often than not, his close friends are not in good taste.

"Nowhere in the world is an interviewee asked about his private parts. But Karan's talk show has its own rules. In the fourth episode that is yet to be aired, Karan shows more than a passing interest in Ranveer Singh's privates. Karan has a clout and he's using it on the couch," the daily quoted the displeased director as saying.

So what happened in the said episode?
Singh had the most fitting reply to Shah Rukh Khan's harmless jibe. The Dear Zindagi star had said he would like to know why Singh is seen wearing a "padded underwear" in Befikre. Like most of the times, Singh had the fitting, and not to mention cheeky, response to Khan's query. "I am just saving them the post production costs. Otherwise they will have to do VFX on my red chillies," Singh said.

So far, Khan-Alia Bhatt, Akshay Kumar-Twinkle Khanna, Varun Dhawan-Arjun Kapoor, Kapil Sharma, and Farah Khan-Sania Mirza, among others, have shot for the show. Koffee With Karan 5 airs on Star World, every Sunday, 9 pm onwards.
