Kodi has been released in over 420 screens in Tamil Nadu. Dhanush and the Kodi team have left no stone unturned to make the film talk of the town. Their promotions have apparently worked big time as the Tamil flick enjoyed above-average occupancies in prime centres on the release day.
The movie has opened to fairly positive reviews and estimations coming from the trade experts say that the movie has collected above Rs 3.5 crore on the first day. The business of the film would have been a lot better if the early morning shows were not cancelled in many centres, say trade experts.
The good word-of-mouth is expected to boost the collection of Kodi in the next two days. It is a political thriller, written and directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar. The decent storyline backed with an electrifying performance of Dhanush in the lead role have won the hearts of the movie-goers.
On the other hand, Kashmora has been released in over 440 screens and has opened well on the opening day. The movie registered a better occupancy than Kodi and easily collected over Rs 4.25 crore on the opening day.
Kashmora has got a good start in Kerala as well. Like Dhanush, Karthi has promoted the movie well. With positive reviews coming from all sections of the audience, the multi-genre film is expected to end its first weekend on a high note. It has to be noted that the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the movie have been sold for Rs 25 crore.
The movie, which has Nayanthara and Sri Divya in the female leads, has been written and directed by Gokul.
