Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Sambit Patra on Thursday attacked Rahul Gandhi saying that the Gandhis flew on Kingfisher Airlines for free and helped Vijay Mallya out with 'sweet deals'.
These comments were made after the Congress president demanded Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's resignation. Mallya had earlier said that he spoke to Jaitley before he left for London in 2016 and Gandhi accused Jaitley of colluding with Mallya.
Jaitley wrote on Facebook, "My attention has been drawn to a statement made to the media by Vijay Mallya on having met me with an offer of settlement. The statement is factually false in as much as it does not reflect truth (sic).'
Patra said that the BJP has evidence that the Gandhis dealt with black money and helped Mallya out with Kingfisher whenever possible. The BJP leader claimed that the RBI and the UPA under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh offered 'sweet deals' to Kingfisher.
"It appears through these chain of documents that Kingfisher Airlines was owned not by Vijay Mallya but by the Gandhi family," Patra said, according to India TV.
