Legendary Ghazal singer Mehdi Hasan, who died on Wednesday, will be cremated at Shah Muhammad graveyard of North Karachi on Friday.
The District Municipal Corporation (DMC) has made all arrangements for the burial of the Hasan.
Muhammad Nazir Lakhani, Administrator DMC Central Karachi and other officials had visited the burial ground and checked all the arrangements, according to a statement issued on Thursday.
Hasan will be laid to rest after his two sons arrived from the United States, according to reports.
Apart from lighting and cleaning arrangements, the DMC officials have also arranged camps on all roads leading to the burial ground.
The India-born Pakistani singer passed away at the age of 84 at Karachi hospital after suffering from lung, chest and urinary tract diseases for several years.
He was admitted to the intensive care unit after his condition became critical on Monday.
"My father has been ill for the last 12 years but this year his condition has deteriorated significantly and in the last one month he was released from hospital for just one day before being admitted again," his son Arif told the reporters.
"He is admitted in the ICU of Aga Khan hospital for last one week but he is not on a ventilator," PTI quoted Arif as telling.
