Italian superbike manufacturer MV Agusta has joined hands with Pune based Kinetic group to sell its superbikes in India. A well known name in the global motorcycle industry, MV Agusta is planning to bring the first motorcycle to India in November 2015.
The current international portfolio of MV Agusta consists of the Brutale, Rivale, Turismo Veloce, F3 and the F4 superbike. The motorcycles will be brought in as completely built units (CBUs) and semi-knocked down (SKD) units and sold at prices ranging from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 33 lakh.
"We are really excited to be bringing these extraordinary machines to India, for riders who demand the utmost performance from their bikes. MV Agusta sportsbikes and superbikes are packed with high-end technology and race-derived electronics, which come together to offer an unbeatable blend of power, performance and handling. The styling and the sheer riding dynamics of these machines underline MV Agusta's tagline - this indeed, is 'Motorcycling Art' as never seen before in our country," said Ajinkya Firodia, Managing Director, Kinetic World.
The Kinetic-MV Agusta joint venture will set up new showrooms in major cities of the country. The launch of the motorcycles will be staggered over the next 2-3 years. A team of engineering experts is already working on homologation and other formalities.
The Kinetic Group, promoters of Kinetic Honda, had exited the two-wheeler industry by selling their 10.3% stake in Mahindra Two Wheelers in 2014.
